Rita Walker

Rita was born and raised in Amarillo.  She attended St. Mary's Academy for 12 years, graduating in 1967 (the last graduating class of SMA.) She attended Amarillo College and went on to West Texas State University where she earned a BS in Secondary Education (Art/English) in 1972.

Rita is a single mother of one daughter, Laura, who also resides in Amarillo.  Before coming to St. Thomas as the Parish Secretary in 2006, Rita worked as an Administrative Assistant at a local bank for 23 years, as a Legal Secretary for approximately two years, as well as spending three years in the retail business.  

She enjoys painting, needlework, gardening, computer games, listening to music and is also a devoted TV and movie watcher with a long list of favorites and she is an avid cat lover.
