Contemplative Power Hour
Experience the power of silence.
The Contemplative Power Hour is divided into 3 segments of silent prayer.
“Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10
20 minutes of Centering (Contemplative) Prayer: Contemplative Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer that breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself.
20 minutes of Lectio Divina: Lectio Divina, literally meaning “divine reading,” is an ancient practice of praying the scriptures. During Lectio Divina, the practitioner listens to the text of the Bible with the “ear of the heart,” as if he or she is in conversation with God, and God is suggesting the topics for discussion. The method of Lectio Divina includes moments of reading (lectio), reflecting on (meditation), responding to (oratio) and resting in (contemplation) the Word of God with the aim of nourishing and deepening one’s relationship with the Divine.
20 minutes of Adoration: Adoration is a time of quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. This time can be spent praying the rosary, journaling, praying silently, or any way you wish.
ALL ARE WELCOME!
